Yugoslavia was a country on the Balkan Peninsula in Southeastern Europe. Founded in late 1918,, at the end of the First World War, Its capital town was Belgrade. Yugoslavia was originally a kingdom, and was proclaimed a republic in 1945, right after the end of the Second World War.

The 1990's saw Yugoslavia falling apart in the following the Yugoslavian Civil War. The name "Yugoslavia" remained until February 2003.
